Economic Development - Infrastructure Building (EDIB) Projects

High recycling rates cannot be delivered without an integrated network of facilities to process the recyclable materials.

The London Recycling Fund dramatically improved this position by encouraging investment and stimulating effective working partnerships between London waste authorities, the community sector and the private sector.

Through funding from the London Development Agency (LDA) the London Recycling Fund established the Economic Development - Infrastructure Building Programme (EDIB) in 2004. The EDIB programme aimed to develop urgently needed waste and resources processing facilities in London and provide the additional legacy of employment opportunities.
